Discover Brissago

From the islands to the Alps: the Brissago region

The Brissago region offers a unique panorama, characterized by surprising contrasts. On the one hand, the lake with its relaxing charm, on the other, the mountains that invite adventure.

For lake lovers, opportunities abound: the magnificent botanical park on the Brissago Islands, bathing establishments, sailing and surfing schools, as well as public and private boat trips.

Those who prefer the mountains can explore a network of well-marked trails, which lead to Mount Ghiridone (2,190 m) and the Capanna al Legn. The region also boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage, with important monuments and architectural works, such as the Renaissance churches of the SS. Peter and Paul and Our Lady of Ponte. Also noteworthy are the contributions of architects Livio Vacchini and Luigi Snozzi in the restoration of historic buildings.
