The Extracurricular Center Mira Brissago, managed by the the Zerosedici Foundation, offers an educational and care service for children aged 4 to 15, supporting families in reconciling work and family life. Located at the primary school building, the center offers a welcoming and stimulating environment, with activities designed to promote socialization and personal development of children.
Services offered
- Preschool (07:00-08:30): Morning reception with accompaniment of the children at their respective school locations.
- School canteen (11:30-13:30): catering service also active on Wednesdays, with balanced meals and suitable for the needs of children.
- After-school (15:30-19:00): post-school educational and recreational activities, with support in the performance of tasks and moments of play.
- Wednesday afternoon (13:30-19:00): themed programmes, such as the ‘School in the Forest’ in Gordevio, for learning in contact with nature.
- School holidays (07:00-19:00): weekly themed programs during school breaks, with recreational and training activities.
The activities of the Mira Extracurricular Center are led by a team of qualified educators, in an intimate and family environment that values freedom of expression, creativity and comparison between children of different ages.
In addition to freedom of play and creative autonomy, children can be accompanied, if necessary, in overcoming any educational difficulties. This privileged context fosters the development of emotional and relational skills, encouraging bonds of friendship even between children of different cultures and ethnicities, for the benefit of a harmonious and lasting integration process.
Excursions, outdoor activities, creative and manual workshops are regularly offered during the school year and during holiday periods, designed to stimulate curiosity and a spirit of collaboration.
The extracurricular centre Mira di Brissago (active since 2021) is located inside the municipal school. It has a classroom on the 1st floor for educational activities and a spacious canteen on the ground floor, furnished to accommodate up to 30 children. The spaces on the 1st floor are adapted during lunch to allow students of 1a and 2a elementary to consume the meal in a quiet and collected environment.
