This year the Hildebrand Clinic Brissago Rehabilitation Centre celebrates its 60th anniversary. The facility was opened to patients in April 1963. The official opening took place at the end of June of the same year.
Since then, many projects and people have passed through and enabled the Hildebrand Clinic to become a recognised centre of excellence both in Ticino and in Switzerland and abroad.
To honor and celebrate this important milestone, the management of the Clinic has decided to implement some initiatives aimed at the population, patients, collaborators and collaborators.
On 22 July, the Institute will open its doors to the public and to all those who wish to discover closely the reality, structure and activity of the Hildebrand Clinic. For the occasion, a lunch will be prepared for the population.
Starting from May, a historical exhibition will be set up and exhibited in the Clinic, which will retrace the most important stages of its history and its founders.
Saturday 19 August will be the turn of a charity event organized with the collaboration of Parkinson Switzerland. In particular, it will be a popular swim crossing between the islands of Brissago and Porto Ronco, for a distance of 1.2 km.
In the year of its 60th anniversary, the Clinic also decided to produce two commemorative wines, one white and one red, with the support of the two largest wineries in Brissago. The label of the two bottles will be the result of an internal ‘artistic’ competition organised between the institute’s staff.
During the year, a series of public conferences will be held with the participation of illustrious personalities linked to the territory, interviewed by the journalist Marco Bazzi. The conferences will be held for one Sunday a month, from 16h, at the 4th floor of the Clinic, which will always be followed by an aperitif.
The series opens on Sunday, 30 April, with Prof. Dr. Pietro Majno, Primary and Head of the Surgery Department of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, with roots that link him to Brissago.
Subsequently, on Sunday 14 May, Nadia Dresti, a member of the Federal Film Commission and since 2017 Deputy Artistic Director of the Locarno Film Festival, will be a guest, with an interesting professional career behind her.
