Greetings from the Mayor and the Town Hall

The year that was the year to come.

What better occasion than the Christmas holidays to stop for a moment, to break the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to reflect and draw a balance sheet of the year that we are about to leave behind...

For Brissago 2025 was an intense year, marked by goals achieved and new chapters ready to be written together.

In April we inaugurated Palazzo Branca Baccalà, one of the most important and precious historical buildings of our community. A symbol, now christened the House of Culture, destined to become over time a precious resource for Brissago: a meeting place, where memory, the present and the future are intertwined. A goal made possible thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a benefactor and the great work done over the past and current legislatures, the result of vision, patience and collaboration.

Immediately after, with the same spirit of renewal, we launched the new season of the municipal Lido, inaugurating a new formula of collaboration between public and private. This choice made the most of this important infrastructure, making it more lively and proactive, for the benefit of tourists and visitors, and demonstrating how shared work and enthusiasm can strengthen the identity and attractiveness of our country.

Only two months later, the doors of the crèche were opened, a work strongly desired, designed to meet the needs of families and to encourage the return of new families to our village. Welcoming spaces, child-friendly, that speak of attention, care and trust in the future.

We close the year with another good news: at the beginning of summer will open, in fact, a Coop store, a store that has been talked about for a long time. For us, it is a concrete sign of trust in Brissago, the result of constant commitment and, again, teamwork, with the aim of further increasing the attractiveness and quality of life of our country.

Many issues and challenges for the future remain on the table: we think of the planning of the schools sector and Piazza Municipio, the aggregative theme with Ronco sopra Ascona, and other important dossiers that require listening, responsibility and a shared vision.

We are about to close a challenging year, a year in which we hope to have been able to meet expectations and to have transformed our commitment to public affairs into concrete results, always with respect, a spirit of service and closeness to the community.

In these magical and luminous Christmas days, we cannot forget the weight of absences. An affectionate thought goes to those who this year will have an empty chair at their table: the memory of a loved one makes these days quieter, but also deeper, because shared love is not lost and continues to accompany us.

The municipality and the municipal administration of Brissago wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and a new year full of health, confidence and hope, with the hope of continuing, together, to take care of our community.
