The palace

Palazzo Branca-Baccalà is an impressive Baroque palace located in the heart of Brissago, witness to the wealth and influence of the Branca family, one of the most important in the region between the 17th and 18th centuries. The building, with its elegant façade and rich decoration, reflects the prestige of the family that built it, linked to trade and international trade.

The building is located in a strategic position, near Lake Maggiore, and has architectural elements typical of the noble residences of the time: frescoes, coffered ceilings, decorative stuccoes and large halls. Today, Palazzo Branca-Baccalà is a reference point for the culture and community of Brissago. Recently restored, it also houses the the Ruggero Leoncavallo Museum, Dedicated to the famous Italian composer.
